SAAC Partners with Local Youth Center for Community Engagement Day

Atlanta, Ga.--The Clark Atlanta University Student-Athlete Advisory Committe (SAAC) in conjuction with the John Hope Community Center's Clean Fling event will hold its annual "Community Engagement Day"  Saturday, April 28th, from
9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the center located at 560 Larkin Street (directly across from the CAU gymansium parking lot).

"This community engagement is different from years past because we have always held our event on campus, but we are excited about partnering with the community center to support its efforts as well," said SAAC Advisor Lawanda Pearson.

This year's theme for community engagement is "Heart of a Panther" dedicated to CAU Baseball Coach Derwin McNealy whose one year old son recently endured a successful heart transplant.

"We wanted to organize an event focused on healthly living for healthy hearts as we show our support for one of our CAU coaches and his family," said SAAC President Mike Kelly.

The event will kick off with a community clean-up initiative followed by food, fun, and games for children and youth in the community.
